A word on gas boilers
There are many different types of gas
boiler on the market today. Combination (combi) boilers, System
boilers and conventional boilers. Combination boilers eliminate
the need to store water in your loft or airing cupboard and deliver
hot water on demand.
System boilers incorporate a hot water cylinder, zone valves and
an expansion vessel. The expansion vessel removes the necessity
for a feed and expansion (F&E) tank as the system pipework is
pressurised. The main advantage of this type of system is being
able to satisfy a larger demand for hot water.
Conventional boilers utilise the same components as system boilers
apart from from the expansion vessel, this type of system uses a
feed and expansion tank which is usually located in the loft space.
All gas boilers today are condensing and will have a SEDBUCK A
rating.
